This local fish and chip shop has quickly become one of my go-to takeout spots. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the menu is a cut above the usual chippy. Recently, I had one of their burgers, and it was amazing—juicy, perfectly seasoned, with Tzatziki, Roast Peppers and other goodies like something you'd expect from a gourmet restaurant, not takeout. I also tried the grilled fish, which the staff explained is served with a Mediterranean dressing and seasoning. It was light, flavorful, and far from the greasy standard you usually get with takeout. What’s even better is that all this top-quality food comes at affordable prices. It’s quickly become my favorite spot for delicious, high-quality meals that won’t break the bank. Highly recommend! Fish and chips isn't the 'cheap' meal it was considered to be many years ago and that's fine, I understand how basic economics work along with issues the industry face. It's when your paying 'good money' and not receiving the same or greater in return that you get upset. And that's where Vines Rd excels. They've mastered the basics, and they are basic, yet some haven't, or don't bother with the basics for what ever reason. Fish is obviously prepped correctly, oil is at the right temperature and quality ingredients are used. Simple steps. Do them well and you're half the way there to being successful. Batter is crisp and light. If the fish was any fresher it would still be swimming. Fantastic potato cakes. If they say, "ready in 10, 15 or 25min", it's ready in exactly that. Friendly owners and staff who lift their heads and say g'day. All the above applies to EVERY SINGLE VISIT I've made which is once every two to three weeks. Maintain this level of quality and there's no reason why this shop shouldn't be a great success for the owners!

We've had fish and chips from here lots of times and its been good. Had a day in hospital today and was not allowed to do anything on going home so ordered and was looking forward to it. The food tonight was really disappointing. My husband had fish bites that were so small compared to how they used to be also he said the potato cakes were inedible. Mine was reasonable but not a patch on previous food received. What a shame. This was home delivery.
